Application
Zinc Borate is a flame retardant/smoke suppressant in polyamides, PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, epoxy, polyesters, elastomers and rubber based formulations. The particle size and refractive index of Zinc Borate results in the product having very little pigmenting power (tinting strength), minimizing pigment loading and in translucent formulations. Zinc Borate also finds applications as an afterglow suppressant and anti-arcing agent. The product is recommended for most thermoplastics including polymides, where the high thermal stability allows processing up to 280°C. It is also recommended for polyrethanes thermoset resins, plastisols, adhesives and textiles coating applications.
